BMZ Co., Ltd. presented its “Grabbing Shoes” at the 102nd Tokyo International Gift Show Autumn 2026, introducing footwear designed to help users make more active use of their natural foot function. Based in Minakami, Gunma, the company develops insoles and functional footwear with a focus on supporting health through the feet.
The Grabbing Shoes feature a patented structure that supports the cuboid bone in the foot, helping stabilize the skeletal structure while encouraging the wearer to use their own foot function more actively. Rather than focusing only on ease of walking or comfort, the concept is to help users make greater use of their feet through walking and support physical health from the feet upward.
The design also incorporates the concept of traditional Japanese “ashinaka” footwear, reinterpreted for modern use. The product was introduced as a functional shoe aimed at health-conscious consumers and the sports and wellness market, offering a different approach to footwear centered on actively using the foot’s natural function.

We are a company that has been researching and developing insoles in Minakami, Gunma for 25 years,and we are a company that creates products that build health starting from the feet.
This time, we are introducing Grabbing Shoes, shoes that build your body as you wear and walk in them.
There are many shoes that are easy to walk in or that make walking comfortable,but the concept of Grabbing Shoes is that by wearing them you will use your feet properly, making your feet healthier and building your body from the feet.
By supporting the cuboid bone, which is a patented feature,the skeletal structure is stabilized and you can use your feet properly.
Grabbing Shoes are a modern version of the Ashihan shoes worn by seafarers in the past,and the more you wear them and use the functions of your feet, the healthier you become, just like the exercise you do with your body.
We have started this project through crowdfunding,and general sales will begin on September 7th, so if you are interested, please try them on.
