Kaneni Nishi Co., Ltd. presented a convenient new way to enjoy traditional Japanese dashi at the 102nd Tokyo International Gift Show Autumn 2026. The company has specialized in producing katsuobushi for more than 80 years in Yamagawa, Ibusuki, Kagoshima, and used the exhibition to showcase products that adapt traditional dashi culture to modern lifestyles.
The main products featured were two drip-style dashi products made using 100% bonito powder. Designed to be prepared in a similar way to pour-over coffee, the products allow users to enjoy dashi conveniently simply by adding hot water. The concept also extends beyond cooking, presenting dashi as a warm drink that can be enjoyed on its own.
By making bonito dashi easier to prepare, the products are suitable not only for home use but also for gift retail, specialty food stores, hospitality businesses, and Japanese food-related companies. The exhibit demonstrated how a traditional Japanese food product can be adapted to contemporary lifestyles while retaining the character of bonito-based dashi.

We have been manufacturing katsuobushi for over 80 years.
We are located in Yamakawa, a port town in Ibusuki City, Kagoshima Prefecture, the southernmost point of Kyushu.
We have a variety of products, but this time we are introducing this lineup.
