In quality inspection for automotive parts, aircraft parts, molds, and other large workpieces, dimensional measurement can take significant time, while measurement variation and machine downtime can affect production efficiency. In these processes, automated inspection using 3D scanning and CAD comparison is becoming increasingly important.
At Manufacturing Expo 2026, Shining 3D Thailand introduced a robotic 3D scanner that can be connected to a robot for automated measurement. At the booth, the company demonstrated scanning an automotive door and comparing the acquired data with a master file or CAD file.
The company develops both the hardware and software for its scanners in-house, and the system can be used for scanning large objects such as automobiles and aircraft. AI functions support the acquisition of shape data such as holes and edges, helping shorten processing time, improve production efficiency, and reduce machine downtime.
After scanning, users can review inspection results through a report comparing the scanned data with design data. The solution was presented as a measurement and inspection system for quality assurance departments and manufacturing sites, including automotive manufacturers, aircraft manufacturers, and mold manufacturers.

We are Shining 3D Thailand. Our company specializes in 3D scanners. We primarily serve two industry groups: automotive and dental.Today, we’re showcasing our Robot Scanner, a scanner that can connect to a robot. The operator only needs to click to operate it. We develop both the hardware and software in-house at Shining 3D.The scanner can scan objects as large as a car or even an airplane.Shining 3D’s AI functions assist in collecting data, such as holes and edges of objects. This reduces processing time, increases production efficiency, and minimizes machine downtime.Currently, our Robot Scanner is scanning a car door.As you can see in the video, after scanning, we compare the scanned door to a master file or CAD file.Once the comparison is complete, the client receives a report allowing them to verify that the production matched the design. The robot can now move to pre-programmed positions based on our training. We invite you to visit our booth. We are at the Manufacturing Expo 2026, Shining 3D booth, Hall 101 – 1E09
