Hi there, I’m Mike Orange from CES Advanced Composites.
I work in the UK but we have a serial manufacturing plant in Turkey.

80% of our business is doing ballistic protection, so for troops, for chest armour, for helmets, we are Europe’s largest manufacturer of helmets.

We also have a large range of helicopters, Sikorsky Blackhawk, Airbus helicopters the likes.

This brings us into drones and lightweight UAVs.
My speciality within CES is aircraft interiors.
My speciality within CES is aircraft interiors.

So I’m responsible for fire proof composites for aircraft seating, for seat backs and for making passenger and commercial vehicles safer, even eVTOL vehicles as well.

The majority of our ballistic materials are based on thermoplastic material, so Polyethylene and the like.

We have a lot of ceramic parts that we put into our strike faces in ballistic things.
Also in thermosets so we have a lot of autoclaves, press-molding and in the aircraft interiors,

I am starting to use a lot more sustainable material, so natural fibres, bio-resins and thermoplastic materials in aircraft interiors.

So we can re-use them after they’ve been used during their first life, so after 10-12 years of use, we can repurpose them and re-mold them.
