When introducing traditional Japanese foods to overseas markets, ease of preparation, portion size, and safety-conscious design are important factors for food retailers, restaurants, and importers.
At FOOD TAIPEI MEGA SHOWS, Maeharaseifun Co., Ltd. introduced small-sized mochi made from Japanese glutinous rice using the traditional kine-tsuki pounding method. Each piece weighs about 5 grams, making it quick to heat and easy to eat.
At the booth, the mochi was heated using a Japanese takoyaki-style cooking machine and served with soy sauce or salt. The small size was presented as a practical design that is easier to eat and less likely to get stuck in the throat compared with larger pieces of mochi.
The company manufactures and sells Japanese rice flour products such as shiratama flour, mochi flour, dango flour, and joshinko flour, as well as packaged mochi and kagami mochi, supporting both household and commercial demand for traditional Japanese rice-based foods.
