The advantage of these robots is that they don’t require magnetic strips or other floor attachments; they can navigate autonomously with just a single map setup.
AMR Robots use LiDAR sensors in conjunction with VIL-SLAM. VIL-SLAM is an overhead camera that uses an image recognition system.
It uses the system to capture and save unique ceiling features.
Because the ceiling changes less than the surrounding environment, the robot can navigate even if moved according to a pre-configured map.
