At H.C.R.2026, Hashimoto Engineering Co., Ltd. exhibited the folding wheelchair X70 and introduced its wheelchair development work. The company also showed a new X60 rigid-type model with a back-folding structure, and presented a prototype of an ultra-light electric mobility device for older users.
The core feature highlighted for the wheelchairs is a magnesium frame, which enables ultra-lightweight construction. The company emphasized that the chair can be carried easily with one hand. It also said this lightweight engineering extends beyond standard wheelchairs to mobility products, while applying the same technology to wheelchair development.
The exhibit points to applications in rehabilitation and sports wheelchairs, including equipment supplied for wheelchair tennis player Tokito Oda. The display also suggested use in lightweight mobility support for older users, but the evidence was limited to prototypes and product introductions.
