FT TECHNOLOGIES exhibited at COMMERCIAL UAV EXPO 2022.

uh hello my name is Chris Trodden from FD Technologies we produce the world’s toughest
wind sensors these are used for mounting onto drones as well as for ground stations so what
wind sensors these are used for mounting onto drones as well as for ground stations so what

some of our customers are using these sensors for is for weather profiling or gas detection they

can also use it for mapping the airflow around structures buildings as well as also building

these into their autopilot systems on the drones so the sensors read up to 75 meters per second
we produce this 250 gram version which has heaters built in for cold weather environments and we also
we produce this 250 gram version which has heaters built in for cold weather environments and we also

have a lightweight version of this sensor that we’re currently redesigning for use on smaller

uas systems and drones and we have a prototype version of that at the moment but we are currently

going through the redesign stage and we’re going to be putting in some extra sensor capabilities
to that like pressure temperature humidity as well as then adding in GPS capabilities and some data
to that like pressure temperature humidity as well as then adding in GPS capabilities and some data

transmission further down the road and yeah so at the moment we have this one which is our surface

mount option as well as a direct Mount which can be mounted onto a pipe for ground stations

and then here you can see the sensor plugged in I turn on the fan and you can see it reading so

at the moment we’ve got this set up just as a test software so you can see the sensors doing readings

from either side as I move this around there is some filtering on this so you can set up the

averaging times of what you need it to be based on what you’re going to be using the sensor for
and it reads up to 75 meters per second which should be more than enough for most drone users
and it reads up to 75 meters per second which should be more than enough for most drone users

okay so this is the FD Technologies win sensor and it uses acoustic resonance
technology so there’s no moving Parts on the sensor so what we do is we build a very strong
technology so there’s no moving Parts on the sensor so what we do is we build a very strong

resonating signal inside the cavity which is not affected by noise or vibration or shock

so that means that when this is mounted onto a vehicle or any Moving Systems you’re going
to get consistent reliable data so this one at the moment you can see here it’s
to get consistent reliable data so this one at the moment you can see here it’s

giving directional readings as well as speed if I move the fan around to the other side

you can see how the sensor quickly reacts and shows you at the moment we’ve got some filtering
in this one but you can get up to a 10 Hertz readout from the sensor depending on what you need
