As manufacturers and retailers seek materials that reduce environmental impact, wood-based molding materials are gaining attention as alternatives that can be processed in ways similar to plastic.
At Lifestyle Week Tokyo Summer, NISSO SHOJI CO., LTD. introduced CXP, a molding material imported from South Korea that is made with approximately 70% wood powder.
The material can be molded like plastic while making use of wood-based content, offering a proposal for product development that considers CO2 reduction and environmental performance.
In Japan, CXP has already been used for applications such as toothbrush handles and building materials, and the company presented it as a material option for manufacturers looking to develop more sustainable products.
