**Uzbek Fashioner Zumrad Khamidova Unveils Sustainable Collection**
London, England – Zumrad Khamidova, a fashion printed textile student, debuted her sustainable collection at New Designers 2024. Inspired by traditional Uzbek garments and prints, her designs aim to raise awareness about the Aral Sea issue.
Khamidova’s fabrics are natural and environmentally friendly, including linen, jute, and organic cotton. Her garments feature motifs of fish and tamarisk trees, referencing the Aral Sea’s decline. The collection includes contemporary takes on traditional chapans, scarves, trousers, and tatting pieces.
“I wanted to create a collection that celebrated Uzbek heritage while addressing environmental concerns,” said Khamidova. “By using sustainable materials and printing techniques, I hope to inspire others to make more conscious fashion choices.”Generated by Gemini
