Autonomous rail taxi system by RailEvo at InnoTrans 2026
RailEvo introduced its autonomous rail taxi system at InnoTrans 2026. As a startup based in Trento, Italy, it presented a new rail mobility concept that operates on demand 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, using a dedicated railway line and station network.
At the core of the system is a dual-mode vehicle that runs on the track and, when it reaches a station, can leave the rail and move to parking bays away from traffic. RailEvo also highlighted a different traffic model, describing it as closer to the way cars move on highways than to conventional railways. The company said this approach can secure very high transport capacity both on the line and at stations.
