Train Simulator - ONGAKUKAN [InnoTrans 2026]
At InnoTrans 2026, ONGAKUKAN introduced its Train Simulator, which the company has developed from a business rooted in music. Minorum Caya, CEO, explained that the company name combines the Japanese words for “music” and “hall,” and said ONGAKUKAN originally started as a music business before moving from music-related items and equipment into railway software in 1995.
The simulator uses video as its base, with operating elements such as signals and alarms overlaid in computer graphics. ONGAKUKAN describes the system as a hybrid technology that combines video and CG to create a realistic railway simulator environment, and says it has produced more than 100 Train Simulators in Japan.
The company has already released the simulator to the public on Steam and wants to expand beyond Japan into Asia, Europe and the Americas. In addition to railway-related content, ONGAKUKAN also presents a broad range of technologies and software on its website, and is seeking partners for international expansion.
