Adega Marel is a small producer in Southern Portugal, Alentejo.

We do work with claypot vessels, native grapes.
We are presenting wines over here in the London wine fair that show that duplicity of a vintage, like the warmth, the ripeness, the native grapes, the claypot and the stainless steel.

We are called Marel. Marel is the the the base word or the root word of the village where we are based in Amareleja.
We choose the the goat because it’s the the male that was used to to reproduce the herds.
We have this design that mixes modernity, surrealism and also tradition like with the manolitu,
because we are mixing the techniques of the Italian producers, the clay vessels, skin fermented whites and reds,
with more modern stainless steel approaches on the Marel and that’s the story of us.
