Welcome to video meter. We are a company based\u00a0 in copenhagen denmark.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n
<\/div>\n
We do spectral imaging for\u00a0food quality analysis.
We have some very\u00a0nice standard instruments that can be used for assessing a very broad scope of food quality.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n
<\/div>\n
You see the instrument over here that strobes a lot of light<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n
<\/div>\n
So in this instrument,\u00a0we will take a number of images,<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n
<\/div>\n
up to maybe 20 or 50 images instead of just taking one image.
It will take it very many different\u00a0wavelengths of light.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n
<\/div>\n
And it will be able to create\u00a0a very versatile set of parameters based\u00a0on spectrum color shape size texture.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n
<\/div>\n
Specific features like contaminants, bruises,\u00a0molds, foreign elements, insect damage, and\u00a0so on.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n
<\/div>\n
Here we have\u00a0a number of examples for food safety.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n
<\/div>\n
We make a european network of methodology\u00a0and IT infrastructure about food safety\u00a0across the globe.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n
<\/div>\n
And we have some examples here\u00a0with nuts and sort of the bad quality mycotoxins,<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n
<\/div>\n
and below here we have an example with corn, in\u00a0this case it’s a negative sample with no aflatoxin.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n
<\/div>\n
A positive sample with alpha toxin and just\u00a0by looking at the corn we can see sort of the\u00a0microtoxin abundance of the grain.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n
<\/div>\n
Another\u00a0nice feature here we have for monitoring fish\u00a0quality over the entire supply chain.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n
<\/div>\n
This\u00a0is called trace my fish project.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n
<\/div>\n
We monitor a number of quality traits, it could be a\u00a0 color change over the the shelf life or the supply\u00a0chain.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n
<\/div>\n
It could be microbial quality, it could be\u00a0other things like a discoloration of shrimps.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n
<\/div>\n
Trace My Fish is also a european project that\u00a0actually runs from this year.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n
<\/div>\n
A couple\u00a0of years more, on this wall we have a number\u00a0 of other examples a very large number of examples.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n
<\/div>\n
And they are sort of around the same thing,\u00a0so detection of parasites anisakis in\u00a0atlantic cot if this is a oxidation of meat\u00a0when you look at it inside the packaging.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

<\/div>\n
This is frying of french fries peas and\u00a0poisonous nightshade seeds inside the piece.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n
<\/div>\n
Molds in a grain for malting for\u00a0beer so this is fusarium test.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n
<\/div>\n
Powder purity, powder contamination, colony\u00a0counting, fermentation of sausages, purity of seeds.\u00a0\u00a0<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n
<\/div>\n
Baking of croissan’s, moisture in biscuits, discoloration again of fish, bruises on fruits.\u00a0\u00a0<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n
<\/div>\n
We have an example of potatoes that\u00a0has some diseases that we don’t want.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n
<\/div>\n
Down here it’s cranberries, firmness, and non-firmness of cranberries.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n
<\/div>\n
The greenish ones are not thus\u00a0are soft and the other ones are\u00a0firm.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n
<\/div>\n
This can also be assessed with this\u00a0kind of instrumentation.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n
<\/div>\n
We have over here also adulteration of wheat or durum wheat here.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n
<\/div>\n
We have a normal wheat and for the eye it’s\u00a0different difficult to see the difference.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n
<\/div>\n
But when we have the spectrum we can see a\u00a0very clear difference.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n
<\/div>\n
Maybe with 100 times, more\u00a0contrast. This is about detection of root powders.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n
<\/div>\n
In this case we have two root powders and one root\u00a0powder contains a lot of plant materials.\u00a0\u00a0<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n
<\/div>\n
You see the white spikes here they are pieces\u00a0of stem and leaf,<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n
<\/div>\n
which are not supposed to be\u00a0in the root powder and the other powder over\u00a0here has less.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n
<\/div>\n
Some stems and leaves\u00a0included this is a rice basmati rice versus\u00a0long-drained rice again.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n
<\/div>\n
We can determine whether a\u00a0shipment of rice has been adulterated\u00a0with a long grain rise to the humbles.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n
<\/div>\n
There will be plenty of more examples but\u00a0I guess that’s enough for a couple of minutes. <\/div>\n<\/div>\n
